*Pear Thyme Simple Syrup
Makes ¾ cup
Ingredients
2 ripe pears, cut into bite-sized pieces (Green DβAnjou work well)
1.5 cups water
.5 cups sugar
A few sprigs thyme
Make it!
Add pears, water, and sugar into a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir to dissolve sugar and bring to a gentle boil.
Once boiling, lower to a simmer and add thyme sprigs. Simmer for 25 to 30 minutes until the liquid has reduced by half. Remove from heat and strain out pears/thyme in a sealed container. Don't throw away the cooked pears, they are delicious to eat plain or with ice cream.
Store simple syrup in the fridge for up to two weeks.
